The RAF Lakenheath Library maintains over 31,000 volumes of technical, educational and recreational reading. In addition, the McNaughton Book Plan ensures that nearly 500 volumes of the most popular new fiction and non-fiction titles are available, with 60 new books added every month. There is a large selection of audio books on CD and MP3 players. The growing DVD collection includes popular recent hits and old favorites for adults and children including educational and instructional titles. The library subscribes to 70 magazines, journals and newspapers to help readers keep up with current events, support technical and educational requirements or for leisure entertainment.
In cooperation with EDIS, the library has materials to assist with basic parenting skills from discipline to potty training and includes special needs as well.
Those continuing with their education will find study materials for CLEP, DANTES and Excelsior.
Base Librarians can also do research for you or teach you how to search databases more effectively; individually or in groups. Contact the library if you want to schedule database training or need us to do research for you.
More than twenty-six computers are available for customer use. These integrated resources permit access to the Internet, Microsoft Office® software, and research on the online databases that have replaced periodicals in hard copy or fiche. These include EBSCO, First Search, SIRS, Morningstar, Jane’s Online, Countrywatch, Petersons and Netlibrary (e-books). There is also free WiFi available.

Currently, there is a Book Club that meets on Wednesday mornings, an Investment Club that meets on the second Tuesday evening of the month and Storytime each Thursday morning at 10am.
